THE AMERICAN LEGION NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ORATORICAL CONTEST

Do yourself or others consider you characteristic of an exceptional public speaker? Do you find yourself merely wanting an excuse to improve your public speaking skills? If so, the American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest might be the perfect opportunity for you!

Nationwide, high school students compete against each other by preparing and performing a short (3 to 5 minutes) oration on some element of the United States Constitution. This year's contemporary topics are accessible here (https://www.legion.org/oratorical/topics/).

The first-place winner receives an impressive monetary award of $18,000, the second-place winner receives $16,000, and the third-place winner receives $14,000. Furthermore, smaller monetary awards are available to state winners. Overall, annual award amounts can exceed $138,000!

The American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest is accessible to all United States high school students that are younger than twenty years. Deadlines vary according to the state.
